The fee to register with the BSA is $86 / year ($93.73 after fees). These fees go towards insurance costs, safety training, and access to BSA camps and facilities.
Our Cub Scout Pack has its own fee of $155/year. This fee covers:
Awards
Summer Day Camp
Pinewood (or Lego) Derby
Blue & Gold Social
Den Supplies (small activities)
Facility Rentals
Adult registration costs $66. (All fees go to the BSA, not to our pack.)
You will need to pay for your son's uniform, Cubscout Handbook, etc. Used uniforms are plentiful right now. Check with neighbors, yard sales, and thrift stores.
We try to schedule a Scout Family Campout every spring that includes the Cub Scouts in Pack 20, the Boy Scouts in Troop 20, and the Venturing Scouts in Crew 20. And all of their families.
There are a lot of fundraising opportunities, so the Scouts can earn their own money to pay for their own Pack Dues and activities.
At least one parent from each family is required to register with the BSA and serve on the Scout committee, a Den Leader, Cubmaser or Assistant Cubmaster. This may also entail being in charge of a major event/program (i.e. Family Recruitment BBQ, Merit Badge class organization, Fundraiser, website, social media, etc)
Adult registration costs $66/parent. (These fees go strait to the BSA. Nothing goes to the Cub Scout Pack.)
Before registering with Troop 20, we ask that you first talk with our Membership Chair to make sure you are aware of our policies and agree to them. You can get in touch by emailing membership@highlandtroop20.org.
If your son is new to Scouts BSA, you can register online with Cub Scout Pack 20.
Our Troop Treasurer (Tessa Prasad) has setup a Venmo account for our Troop. https://account.venmo.com/u/alpinepack20
Venmo @alpinepack20
Send the $155/year Pack fee to that Venmo account.
Send any questions to membership@ut20.org.
